Spring is here, the weathers warm, the fish are biting
Spring Time Fishing Has Been Good
Fraser River Sturgeon Fishing - Fun times on the River
It's been a blast with clients on the Fraser River. Our guides have been putting our guests onto some great fish. The action has been good, even with an early start to spring freshet. We are starting to see more fish in the 6-8 foot range landed on our trips lately, which has been great. The fish are really active when hooked and we have seen some tremendous jumps out of them and very hard fights. We expect sturgeon fishing to stay like this for the next couple weeks as we approach June. June is typically our "big fish time" of the year. Lots of big sturgeon begin to move into our area in June as they wait for the salmon to arrive. It is a quality over quantity time of year in June, with many great fish caught.
Fraser River Summer Salmon Outlook
We have been given our summer salmon outlook for Sockeye & Chinook's. As of right now our main focus on the salmon front will be Chinooks. Our team is very excited to get out there to target these beauties with our guests. As of right now it looks like we will see an opening during the first week of August. However things could change and we might be seeing an opening earlier then that (fingers crossed). With the early start to spring run off again it looks like we are going to have A plus conditions for bar fishing, and plunking spin n' glows from the boats. This is an exciting fishery as it almost seems like the rod is going to fly out of the holder when the big chinooks hits. Stay tuned to our blog for more salmon updates.
